Trust Chair Needham Market Programme notes
Hello once again to this the last of three home games in a week versus Needham Market who are managed by Kevin Horlock. Welcome to any Marketmen travelling supporters.
We have had very positive feedback from many Trust members who are looking forward to our AGM tomorrow night at the Berkeley Hotel 7pm where new CEO Matt Roberts is due to speak.
We have got out of sync announcing the Iron Trust player of the month award due to programme deadlines etc. Therefore, we are pleased to announce that December’s winner was Callum Roberts. Well done to Callum who picks up his second award the first being October. Members, please keep your eye out for the email from Secretary Steve Hawes for the January POM award which will go out after this game.
To recap the season’s other player of the month awards.
August Alfie Beestin
September Ross Barrows
November Ross Fitzsimmons.
Ross Barrows sustained a serious injury v Kings Lynn and our best wishes go to Ross.
As ever if you wish to attend our AGM, vote in the player of the month awards, or receive our pre-home match newsletter simply see us at Trust corner where life membership costs a mere £10. Join today for the opportunity to win one of the 125-year Centenary Celebration boxes via a random member draw and become part of the largest Scunthorpe United supporters group.
Fellow supporters’ group Winterton Iron announced recently that they raised £3,330 for Macmillan Cancer Support during the year 2024. Well done to Dougie and Co. Brian Edwards a co-opted and valued member of the Iron Trust board has recently stepped down as Vice-chair of Winterton Iron.
An invite recently appeared on Iron-bru to meet Jerry Mahoney at the club shop or at ‘crumble corner’ prior to the postponed Brackley game to ask questions about the new Unity group. As chair of the Iron Trust I took that opportunity. The content of the discussion will not be aired on social media but was constructive and both parties are keen to work together positively for the benefit of our great club.
Up the Mighty Iron.
Tony Gosling
Chair of the Iron Trust
