Flag Day Review
The last home game of the season against Hartlepool saw the return of Flag Day after the Covid induced break. It returned to the Honest Lawyer in a stripped down form; no music, no food, and no tickets. It was a case of just turning up, having a drink and discussing the season past and the prospects for the future in the National League.
Hartlepool fans turned up early at the Lawyer as the flags were being put up and for a change the weather was kind as the “Pools” doctors and nurses downed pints at 10-30am.
A raffle was held and although the pandemic hit proceeds (who carries cash these days?!) over £150 was raised for the local MacMillan Cancer Care group.
Our thanks are due to Matt Blanchard (for the poster), “Buzzer” Dent (for helping put the flags up), Dan at the Honest Lawyer (for sorting the event with no fuss), to the many (including SUFC) who donated prizes for the raffle and most importantly the fans who turned up and supported the event.
