Alfreton Programme notes from the Trust Chair

Alfreton Programme notes from the Trust Chair

It’s back to the Attis Arena for the home clash v Alfreton and we extend a warm welcome to any travelling Reds fans.

Time for a catch up on the Iron Trust player of the month awards; the email voting invitation will be going out in the next few days for the November award so please keep your eye out. Callum Roberts picked up the October award joining Alfie Beestin (August) and Ross Barrows (September) as other worthy winners. The race is firmly on to wrestle the Iron Trust player of the season award away from Jacob Butterfield.

Hat-trick draw winners for September and October have been informed whilst we wait for the grand Xmas draw where one lucky winner will walk away with £500. The Hat-trick draw is £1 per share with a minimum purchase of 5 per month: please drop in at Trust corner to sign up.

The 125-year Celebratory box raffle worth £125 has being going well on a football card at £5 per go.  Our near neighbours down the A180 are on the card but have had their box bought by the Iron Trust to save the blushes of any self-respecting Iron fan. Should they be the winning team the Celebratory box will be re-raffled!

Sorry to mention the C word but the game today is one of only two opportunities to buy our goodies in the run up to Xmas; the other being Hereford on December 21st. Please feel free to drop in and see us to buy our collection of Christmas cards, coasters, pencils, mugs and the ever-popular array of badges.

The Iron Trust was saddened to see Lee Turnbull leave the club earlier this month. Lee worked closely with us behind the scenes during the darkest of days for the Iron. We wish Lee all the best for the future.

The Iron Trust met with Michelle Harness and Matt Roberts the new CEO a couple of weeks back to introduce Matt to the Iron Trust and talk about fan engagement. The meeting was constructive, and we wish Matt well in the role.  We hope to meet regularly with him in the future.

The football quiz night planned for Friday 24th January 2025 at the Berkeley is taking shape very nicely with teams already being formed in readiness to do battle. Scunthorpe United themselves will have a team on the night.

The Iron Trust election is coming up once again, by rotation Steve Hawes, Jake Stockdale and Dave Beverley are offering themselves for re-election. Please see the recent newsletter for further details.

Up the Mighty Iron
